Lupita Nyong'o Takes Vogue to Kenya for the October Issue

In addition to being brilliantly talented and charitable, Lupita Nyong'o is a rare beauty. The Oscar winner shows off her radiance once again on the cover of the October issue of Vogue.

Nyong'o revealed the cover on her Instagram with the caption, "I have a secret that I can finally share… Guess who came to see me back home in Kenya?!" In it, she gets emotional as she unboxes the magazine.

The moment is an understandably huge one. Nyong'o posed in her home village in Kenya for one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world.  With photographs by Mario Testino, the editorial captures Nyong'o's joie de vivre and the stunning Kenyan landscape.

Vogue also joined Ms. Nyongo as she and her father venture around her family's farm in Kisumu and cooks ugali with her mother.

In the magazine, Nyong'o discusses the pride she takes in her latest film Queen of Katwe. “To play a mother of four in Uganda, a formidable mother who has so much working against her, was so compelling to me. It wasn’t something I thought I’d be asked to do,” she said.

She considers it a privilege to " expand and diversify the African voice."
