Taraji P. Henson Ups Cookie's Statement Looks in Harper's Bazaar

Taraji P. Henson appears in fabulous portraits nodding to her leopard print loving character Cookie Lyon on Empire in September's Harper's Bazaar. The portraits were also inspired by style icon Jacqueline de Ribes in the 60s.

Henson talks her personal style with the magazine, saying she mainly wears black these days and that Cookie has killed leopard print in her wardribe. "I don't wear leopard anymore," she said. "Not since I got Cookie."

On her style evolution she said, "It took me a while to get on the chic bus. I was coming from the era of Lil’ Kim and Mary J. Blige, you know, ghetto fabulous. I came from nothing, I was deprived all my life, so when you get money, you go big!"

She also shared her favorite look of Cookie's: "Alaïa black catsuit, hands down. I’ve even worn some of my own stuff, like my Balmain leather. I have to meet [Balmain designer] Olivier Rousteing; I need to be his friend."
